Pianist and PhD student in Music Theory at Columbia University since the Fall 2022. Cristina graduated in Piano Performance at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, where she was able to combine her performer side with her interest in analysis, mainly in the field of musical signification. For the past five years she has been focusing on 19th-century solo piano music and chamber music, performing concerts in different venues in Spain, Germany, and Holland. She has started presenting some papers in international congresses as well as publishing some book reviews. Her last paper, entitled “Brahms 1854-2022: A performer’s search for meaning”, was presented at the 21st Quinquennial Congress of the International Musicological Society in Athens. The possibility of combining performance with analysis in her studies has always been her greatest motivation, and now she is focused on performance practice and its relation to musical signification, especially in music from the 19th and 20th centuries.
